On the off chance that you have decided against a street party to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee why not head down to the Club on your 'bonus' day off.

Once again Lancashire second team are playing a 'double' 20/20 match at Parkgate against Nottinghamshire. The first innings starts at 11.30am and as usual the bars will be open and a BBQ on site.

Should the weather stay fair we would expect to see a large number of spectators from around the area. As a result it will not be quite the normal Tuesday afternoon/evening. The car park will be busy so anybody living within walking distance is advised to walk. The gents changing rooms will also be pretty busy until the end of the match which, if going its fullest extent, should finish around 7.30pm. Hopefully this wont affect the tennis teams for after match showers as they will be well cleared by then.

The cricket section would be grateful for any help on the day, no matter how small, and if you can offer an hour two please reply to the e-mail below or contact Dave Lewis on 07740 454954.

The next big event after the Diamond Jubilee hits our screens on Friday 8th June when the EURO 2012 Championships kick off. England's first (and last?!) three games are;-

MONDAY 11th June at 5pm versus France. The game will be shown live on the BIG SCREEN in the Cranston.

FRIDAY 15th June at 7.45pm versus Sweden. The game will be shown live in the SPORTS BAR

TUESDAY 19th June at 7.45pm versus Ukraine. The game will be shown live on the BIG SCREEN in the Cranston.

Further updates will follow once England have qualified for the Quarter Finals.

And finally, another of our brave (mad?!) members is to undertake a huge challenge to raise money for the NSPCC. Andy Bailey is hoping to complete the Three Peak Challenge which involves climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and then Snowdon all within 24 hours. If anybody would like to sponsor Andy please follow the link below or contact me on my e-mail address.
